High quality content … is it really necessary?

in blurt •  2 years ago

This is an interesting observation and this does cause a lot of conflict. But I believe that a lot of this is also based in people comping from a place of scarcity. Like you said when there is this push for quality and effort, some people feel that their effort and quality is better than others and thus is worth more. Then this makes that person lash out at others that they see are undeserving. We have seen a lot of this with the very prominent bloggers here on blurt that continue to trend, partly because they take this frustration out on the platform and that frustration in posts is voted for by ctime.

Recently I was attacked by one of these trending posters because I shared my news about the goal I had reached on blurt and I had also self voted the post 75%. This person posted on the post and said that he had been working for 10 years on content creation and it adds up to the same amount that I have and it is because I am working with stolen money and circle jerking. This is completely far from the facts and it continued to get worse in another post that I commented on. Expectations and entitlement based around these faux rules of what good content is, is really tormenting some people and causing extra conflict where it is not needed.

There is no such thing as rape of the reward pool this is a mind set that got hammered in in steem and hive and these same people ran away from it there but are bringing that garbage here and turning it around on others. Everyone has their own path of course we should not be happy about copy and past and blatant cheating but some diversity in what people enjoy is allowed and not a threat to the ecosystem. The open market sorts that out a lot on its own, we saw a lot of good and bad leave during the bear market, maybe these things are natural resets.

Lol the circle jerking things make me laugh, I think thsi just refers to voting for your mates and the ppl using the words seem to have the same ppl upvoting their content every day. You know what the say often the things that annoy you the most are the things you don’t want to acknowledge in self. I think the ppl
Talking about circle jerking are some of the biggest offenders in having the same ppl upvote their content every post

Bingo!

It takes a circle jerker to know a circle jerker.

🤣🤣🤣 I mean I’m defo one for sure I admit it I try and find new content but when I just have a few mins of course I’m upvoting ppl I know and who’s content I like. esp from my own account I try and spread the reach further from the group one but of course you will vote for your friends or networks

Anyone that says they doesn’t is lying I’m yet to see anyone who votes for completely new authors every single day … show me someone

Maybe these ppl want to scour blurt and send me a list of ppl to upvote every single day with the best content, I’ll read it for sure

I mean don’t just moan from an armchair do something lol that’s how we got coconut curation cause I said it wasn’t great such a huge amount of money going to the same three ppl. We spread it around way more but if ppl are not happy send some accounts or posts over. Not one of these whingers has taken even 10 mins to put together a post with suggestive users and posts… instead they just spend hours moaning and complaining. If you want to change something maybe put a bit of effort in.

A common phenomenon where envious or resentful people tend to find fault with those who have achieved more than they have. It is important to recognize that success often requires hard work, but not only that, it also requires dedication and sacrifice, all of which these people overlook. By focusing solely on the criticism of others, they ignore the effort and sacrifice that went into achieving success.

It's concerning that the criticism directed towards you is made by another author who compares their work to yours but fails to recognize your diverse roles and responsibilities on Blurt. The moralistic tone of the criticism also raises questions about personal freedom, as there is no code in the blockchain banning self-voting and thus remains a personal decision rather than a law imposed by the blockchain. This raises questions about the legitimacy of such moralistic evaluations.

This is one of the reasons why I relocated to Asia, where success is viewed positively and celebrated, rather than met with envy. This creates a supportive environment that lifts everyone up, rather than tearing them down.

All very true. Thank you for your insights. Maybe I need to try Asia at some point I very much enjoyed a trip to Vietnam. Here in Ghana envy is a big problem also, hard work is not as valued as being "smart" and getting the money by any means. Money in the end is what is worshiped and those with it.
