Harddrive will fail - it is just a matter of when

My another old hardrive is suddenly dead without any notice. Luckily, most of the files are on Cloud - and I can just replace it with a new drive and re-sync to a local copy.

Both SSD and HDD are due to fail at some point. It is just a matter of when. It is paramount to backup your data. Your data does not belong to you unless you have at least 2 copies.

Alternatively, you can set up the RAID to increase the data redundancy. Backing up the data in multiple cloud providers is a good idea.

Of course, posting on the blockchain e.g. Steem, Blurt is a good idea - I believe the data will laster much longer than your current hard drive.
