Halsnøy is a beautiful island in the middle of the Nordhordland fjord, Norway. The island has a beautiful hiking trail that leads to Toftåsen, a mountain with a spectacular view of the surrounding landscape. The trail is easy to follow and suitable for all levels of hikers, and is 4.7 km long. The trail starts at the Halsnøy parking lot and takes you through the forest to the top of Toftåsen. On the way, you will pass the old Halsnøy farm and enjoy a beautiful view of the fjord and the surrounding mountains
. At the top of the mountain, you will be rewarded with a beautiful panoramic view of the area. The route is a good way to explore the nature of Halsnøy and enjoy the beautiful landscape. If you are looking for a quiet and pleasant walk, Englafjell and Ulvanosa are two beautiful mountains that dominate the valleys of Uskedalen and Eikedalen. Seen from the hillside, these two mountains quickly grab your attention. The floor is not in order. From 700-800 m you will find yourself on loose rocks and many dangerous slopes. Mannen is also part of this great mountain, but since it is a few hundred meters below, this mountain does not dominate.
The view of the Rosendal mountains, Folgefonna Glacier, Hardangerfjorden and the whole of Sunnhordland awaits you if you find the strength to conquer one of these peaks. It is an unforgettable movie. Directly translated into French, Englafjell means "Mountain of Angels" while Mannen means "man". On the map provided on this page, the height of Mannen is 1014 m. On the M711 map the elevation is 1013 m, the elevation to which I will refer in the following pages.
Where Englafjell has a head at 490 m, towards the upper Ulvanosa (1246 m). The last two parts of the 20 m contour line (map M711) in this pass are at 720 m. The height of the saddle is at 710 m. This is produced by 31 in Hordaland, depending on the main material. Mannen is 223 m above Englafjll (1200 m).
The saddle is located above the Eikedalen valley, north of Lake Jordsvatnet. The contour line of the last 20 meters (map M711) is 800 m. The contour lines are close to each other, suggesting that the height of the saddle is close to 800 m. However, for some parts of this pass, I saddled up for 790m. From Bergen, follow the E16 road to Oslo. In the trenches, follow route 7 (Oslo) to Samnaardorden. After Bjørkheim, take exit 48 towards Mundheim/Gjermundshamn. From Mundheim, follow route 49 south to Gjermundshamn (since June 2003, road restrictions exist between Mundheim and Gjermundshamn). Take the ferry Gjermunshamn - Løfallstrand. From Løfallstrand, pass Rosendal and Dimmelsvik, and after 18 km from the ferry, turn left to "Musland". On the first descent (leg/foot), you will see a gravel road that continues, while another gravel road continues.
Find parking here. Path There is a path here that can be opened. The sign "Englafjell" directs you from the shortcut to the high forest road. Pass the Englafjell sign again and you will find yourself on the forest road that leads to the Eikedalen valley. On your way to the Eikedalen Valley, you will see a sign (on a tree, easy to understand) on your left, indicating Englafjell. You have to go this way.
Eikesdalen
A forest road will take you to the Eikedalen valley, but it will not join the Eikedalen road from Storhaug. Cross the valley to the northwest, find the water crossing and join the Eikedalen trail. The climb from Eikedalen is very gentle, compared to the way you came (where you will return). You have a beautiful canal on your left going up into the valley. High up in the valley, we reached a small plateau where we continued on the rocks. The road is marked in the shape of a "T" in red and forest.
Boys
At the top of Eikedalen you reach the Mannen-Englafjell station at the road junction. The left path faces Englafjell. Go straight ahead Mannen. The road then turns and runs along Jordvatnet lake before turning north past Svartavatnet lake. You will have the 984 place on your left going to Mannen. The first part above Svarta Vatnet Lake is a mixture of grass and slippery rocks. It's not the easiest floor, but it's not hard either. The last 100 meters on the high stone cross. The "T" path will lead you to a large cairn with blue inscriptions.
The main meeting point is 2 minutes east. Take the same route back to Englafjell/Mannen. England Fjell This route is also marked "T". It leads you to Lake Lomatjørna, which you follow on the left. Then continue the stream from Lake 954 to Lake Lomatjørna. The slope goes up along the stream, but it won't be too steep. You come to the saddle between Svartavasshorgi and Englafjell, above lake 954. Look to the left and follow the top of the saddle to a different point leading to Englafjell.
