BLURT price volatile recently... charts and long term outlook

in blurt •  11 months ago

You've probably noticed the estimated dollar value of your Blurt wallet fluctuating wildly over the past couple weeks. That's because the price has been on a rollercoaster! Let's have a look, starting with the 14 day chart (data from https://www.coingecko.com/)...

14.png

Up suddenly, then back down just as quickly. Then another sudden spike, but an even-bigger crash... and immediate recovery! A gradual slide back down... but a big jump last night to bring us approximately back where we started, 0.0032 USD. In the past 2 weeks we touched $0.0040, but also $0.0025... more than once!

The volatility has a lot to do with the overall cryptocurrency market going through some turmoil lately. The US govt claimed they were going to regulate it, causing a drop, but rumours of a Bitcoin ETF are making things heat up. From what I know, this isn't a Blurt thing, we're just along for the ride.

Zooming out to 3 months...

Notice the 2.5 months previous were less volatile? The past couple weeks has been pretty wonky.

Zooming right out to the entire 3 year history of the token provides more perspective:

That really shows how BLURT has been in the doldrums since June 2022, never coming close to recapturing those levels. (If only I had joined the platform a couple months later, I would have been able to buy about 4 times as many BLURT... ouch!)

It shows the last couple weeks of volatility really isn't that impressive, when considering the dramatic price moves back in 2021, and the legendary collapse of June 2022. Things have been pretty tame for a year and a half.

What BLURT really needs to do in the coming crypto bull market is get, and stay, above 0.005 USD (half a cent). I'll indicate that level with a green line:

After that, we can talk about establishing a support base, and starting to target the one cent level again. My million BP would be worth $10k at that price... not exactly proper pay for 11 years of content-creation and investment! But it's a start, and from there it will hopefully test the 0.03 USD level that was popular in early 2022. My million would be worth $30k, starting to be more reasonable.

And if there's any justice in the world, it will return to (and exceed) the old high from early 2021, when the price actually spiked to about 12 cents each. 1,000,000 BP would then be worth $120,000 USD - an amount that would change my life and improve the situation for my wife and our 2 children. I would love to pay the bills as a content creator! The whole "get paid for your content" concept could finally come true for me.

2024 (and 2025) should be very good for BLURT. I think tokens purchased (and earned) at this low level will one day be sold at massively higher prices.

Let's grow blurt!

Probably, when the “crypto winter” ends and the bull run begins, we will see the prices of the past again.

However, I also think we will see many accounts shut down for fear of the price moving back.

The market is completely emotional, and if those emotions are not under control, we will continue to fight against the current, as we have been doing.

At some point, it seems that our friend r2cornell was blamed for the loss of his blurts and immediately taken to probit for sale, however, the hackers are around the corner hiding waiting for another unsuspecting person to steal the fruit From his job

So far, the start of this winter has been pretty good. However, Blurt and Hive aren't keeping up with traditional cryptocurrencies.

In Hive's case, there isn't enough demand for the coin. People are consolidating back into Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, and others.

For Blurt, a big sale on ProBit led to a fall in value; A hacker dumped R2's Blurt, and there wasn't enough liquidity on ProBit to maintain a fair price—destabilizing Blurt's value in the short term.

ProBit and HiveEngine Spot Trading + DeFi Pool have the largest volume in market trades—They are the drivers of the value of Blurt. On crypto listing sites, like CoinGecko, CoinMarketCap, and others, they only use ProBit or other centralized exchanges. They don't include DeFi trades on HiveEngine.

Bitcoin and Ethereum have been doing positively lately—the value is rebounding for Blurt. Let's give it another few days.

Hmmm, has it been confirmed that there is a hacker, and that the account keys (which many people had access to) did not fall into the wrong hands? We shouldn't jump to the conclusion of "hacker" unless there is evidence. I think it would be the very first time Blurt (or Steem etc) had ever been hacked. From what I'm aware of, the correct word is "thief"... but please correct me if I'm wrong about that.

I was a bit sad too with the sudden decrease of blurt price especially on seeing my earnings. But with the increase now I feel somehow delighted.

By the way, I didnt know blurt price reached that much at 12 cents a piece. Thanks for sharing. I am hopeful that blurt price will be close to that in the coming days or even more. 🙏

I think sometime around the middle of 2025 should be very interested for us here on Blurt. The ride there will be exciting as well : )

Due to R2's curation account being hacked, the value of Blurt fell dramatically on ProBit. Yet, looking at the chart, that collapse in value recently is nothing compared to the fall in price earlier in the year. It puts things into perspective when you look at the other charts.

The value is rebounding but it may take some time before Blurt is back at $0.005.

I would like to see evidence that the R2cornell account was hacked. So far all I have seen is R2cornell and others suggesting that as an explanation for what happened. But it would be the first ever case of a Blurt account being hacked (or any of the related chains). Maybe there's some info I'm not aware of, but what I've seen so far suggests that someone wasn't careful with their key. I'm not trying to lay blame in order to shame anyone, but I think it's an important distinction, because if the account truly was hacked, we should all stop posting here immediately, and take a loss on our current wallets. And if they key was simply not kept secure, then it means little except as a reminder that we all guard our key.

I was almost discouraged of posting when blurt price fell from 0.0041 down to 0.0029. Although I miss buying the deep due to the fact that I was busy getting things ready for Christmas.

As you have stated in the post I miss the time when blurt was around 12 cent. I started posting on blurt September last year. Blurt hitting that ath and beyond would be great for everyone here for dedication and consistency.

I would love to see blurt price skyrocket during the up coming bull run

I can't wait to see blurt price at 12 cent. Talking about account been hack. I think as a newbie hiw can I safeguard my key or account from been hacked?

I don't think any Blurt account has ever been hacked. But you are right to ask how to best safeguard your keys, since that's probably the only way anyone else could ever get access to your account. The Blurt FAQ has some advice on this. Also, look into account recovery, a function that allows you to recover your account under certain situations. You will need to set someone else that you trust as your recovery account. If anything goes wrong, they can help you regain access. But as far as I'm aware no Blurt account has been hacked.
