I'm now at the 930,000 BP milestone, 19 days after I reached 920k. That's a respectable pace, but it might not be enough to get me past the one million mark by New Year, although I'll make it happen as early in 2024 as humanly possible!
A big thank you to my friends, supporters, and curators here on Blurt! None of this could happen without your help! My fellow content-creators have also been a part of helping me reach this milestone. It takes a community to operate a blog platform, cryptocurrency, and associated blockchain. Everyone on Blurt is a participant, and all participation on Blurt has an impact.
Can I hit 1,000,000 BP before January 1st 2024?
70,000 BLURT is a lot. I have two months. Is that possible?
I earned 30k in 54 days since 900k, which is a rate of 555 BP per day.
There are 61 days left in the year, so I can earn another 35k BP or so. That would put me at 965k at the end of December. It is looking increasingly unlikely that one million is achievable.
But hitting this major milestone feels good! At 920,000, I am holding on as the 45th "richest" Blurt account. I also have over 33k BP delegated to me by other users. My full votes are worth about 16 cents (50-something BLURT) each.
If I can't pass the goal before the end of the year, I still intend to:
- reach 1,000,000 BP as soon in 2024 as possible, and;
- end 2023 with at least 965,000 BP (which will put me at a million total voting power with the delegations!)
I had a good October in the garden, finishing up the tomatoes, including storing away plenty of seeds!
BLURT price
I see that BLURT is moving up a little recently, now at 0.0037 USD, which is the highest price since early 2023.
Bitcoin is making fresh highs at $36,000 and the overall crypto market is looking bullish. 2024 and 2025 have been predicted to be the big "UP" years. If that comes to pass, I think BLURT is going to do quite well.

I'm sure it will succeed, and I think it will be a great time in terms of timing. With the halving of bitcoin in 2024, I think the blurt price will rise again.

Oh, how embarrassing for Ctime! Anyone who understands high school math knows "burning" (deleting) cryptocurrency that way has no positive effect. It satisfies some small illogical part of our brains, but does nothing to help the currency or platform. Seems they have fallen for the nonsense. I won't be changing my behaviour - especially to something harmful to Blurt - just for a misguided vote. But thank you for the heads up : )
I am no mathematician, but if everbody does it, wouldn't it reduce the inflation rate a bit?
If we want the inflation rate down, I think there's a blockchain setting where that can be done directly! No need to get volunteers to destroy their own money in an attempt to correct for the system overproducing it.

I think I will hold out for the votes from others like me, who don't do the burning thing. There will probably be a re-organization of some curating around here as a result of the CTime change, but things will rebalance and carry on.
