We're not in hunt of quality. We are in hunt of copied and pasted posts put in trending. So, people who will join blurt, will not see the awesome work done by the community. But a bunch of Korean posts, not even clear what's written there using this service https://dclick.io/ to promote them. And who knows, maybe those are posts generated by bots. Not even real people. But a very good developer, who created an algorithm to milk blurt.

"trending" is a measure of money-votes
NOT a measure of "quality"
So, it's ok if a bot generates posts and make a few accounts share that content and milk the system ?
tell me who you believe should police a "decentralized system"
the same rules apply to all participants
no kings
rules without rulers
on hive we were all called "milkers" and "shit-posters"
such CHARACTERIZATIONS would seem to be indicative of a purely subjective moral standard (and a barely hidden desire to force others to comply)
It already has police tho. Someone decided to add a coat to post and comment because the decided it would stop the system being as abused and stop spam. So it already happened. Changing tending would be the exact same thing as adding the post costs etc
i'm not against any and all "restrictions" or "fees" or any other rules and or regulations
as long as they are hard-coded rules fees and or restrictions
the definition of anarchy is that all rules apply equally to all members without any exceptions
no exceptions
no need for a vigilante police force if you put everything in the code
the problem with marky and the crew at hive is that they spent all day saying they downvoted "low effort" stuff and then still gave huge upvotes to obviously "low effort" stuff
i don't care what rules you want to add to the code
UNIFORM ENFORCEMENT IS ESSENTIAL
I agree I have the exact same beliefs like I don’t think upvu should be targeted but if we believe bot services could make the platform less enjoyable for the majority of users I believe it’s perfectly acceptable to change the way the platform / trending page works for example. That’s a site / coding change and the exact argument I was having with @practicalthought that I don’t believe in singling out anything other than to use as an example of what might benefit the platform when it comes to change. I am fine with rules changing to better the platform as long as they apply to all. If ppl rly don’t like the platform rules because they like to plagerise or use bots etc etc they can use another platform etc I personally believe site rules and platform changes are very different to people being able to be silenced / unable to earn etc on a platform but that’s just me
100%
however, every time someone says "plagiarize" a red-flag goes up for me because everything i write comes from somewhere else and often "citing sources" changes the context of the message in a way that makes it less effective
I guess there is a difference between being inspired and using someone else’s work to make money. Like say I paint a piece of art and someone takes it off the internet and gets £25,000 for it by selling it to an ad agency, is that’s ok? I remember once a photographer I knew of got their work stolen that was a self portrait when they were 13 and it got used on the cover of some porn video. How do you feel about things like that ?
ignore the stuff you don't like
love the stuff you love to love
ok, thanks for the advice.
also, i love robots
