Billionaire who serves as Vice President of Berkshire Hathaway, Charlie Munger, again voiced his opinion about cryptocurrencies at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders of the Daily Journal Corporation. Munger bluntly calls digital assets like trash.
"Sometimes I call it (crypto), 'Crappo (crap = trash),' sometimes I also call it cryptos*** (dirt). It's ridiculous to see people buying this asset. It's the same as gambling," said the man's statement 99 years old, as quoted by CNBC Make It (16/2/2023).
Munger, who is also an investor with a net worth of US$ 2.3 billion, Rp. 34.9 trillion, also emphasized that everyone who disagrees with him regarding crypto is idiots.
This statement was made by Munger in response to the decline in the value of Crypto assets last year followed by the crash of FTX. Even now, Bitcoin's one-year performance, which is the most popular crypto asset, is still -37.95%.
Munger even urged the United States (US) Government to ban the circulation of this digital currency.
Based on the monitoring of the CNBC Research Team on the Coinmarketcap website, although they are still experiencing a decline in performance on an annual basis, several crypto assets are still turning green in a week. Call it Bitcoin at 9.02% and Ethereum at 7.43%.
According to Bappebti's statement, crypto asset owners in Indonesia will increase by 5.46 million people in 2022, so it can be concluded that the total crypto investors in the country at the end of January 2023 reached 16.7 million people.
Are you one of those who are interested in placing funds in this digital asset? Or even agree with Charlie Munger? If indeed you are interested in getting into crypto, then here are safe investment tips that you must know.
A safe way to invest in crypto for beginners
Crypto trading is open 24 hours, unlike stocks which have their own trading hours regulated on the exchange. Crypto assets also have a blue chip type like stocks. Crypto blue chip describes a crypto coin that is often used as a benchmark in the market because it has a reputation for good performance, is liquid and has a large capitalization. Bitcoin and Ethereum are two examples of blue chip cryptos.
It is also very important to diversify your investments in order to reduce the risk level of your total investment portfolio. Diversify by buying stocks or stock mutual funds, as well as state securities (SBN) or fixed income mutual funds to minimize risk and optimize profits.
