Definition of Discipline
The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines discipline as "the practice of training people to obey rules or a code of behavior, using punishment to correct disobedience". It becomes very clear from the above definition that it is a practice that trains the people of an entity to follow or work as per the code and rules. The last portion of the definition states that "using punishment to correct disobedience" 🤔 so I am not in favor of punishment because punishment does not bring correctness it further disturbs the environment. If someone disobeys intentionally or unintentionally and if we forgive his/her disobedience or ignore it then they will try to not repeat it.
Discipline in Business
Discipline is an important factor in every sector of life but its importance in business is so much as the backbone important in our body. Like our body, the backbone gives us support in systematically performing different activities. In the same way, discipline is the only way which systemize all the activity of the business body.
It is the only thing that brings consistency, and efficiency and prolongs success. It is a tool that ensures adherence to plans, deadlines, and quality and brings reliability, and creates trust and goodwill among stakeholders.
