Memories: A Miraculous Football Match

Hello Blurtarians, today I want to talk about something that happened in the past and it was a miraculous that took place on the 11th of August, 2024. It was a day my church altar servers association had another football match with the catholic altar servers we played with previously. I will be giving full details of the match here in this post.

We miraculously qualified for quarter finals

On Sunday we had a match and am the assistant coach but ever since our main coach fell ill, alot of tasks came to me and I was always stressed out. We played this catholic church Our Lady of Victory two Sundays ago and we won them 2 - 1, which was as a result of them underestimating us and us having a very tight defence. Our goalkeeper isn't very good and he's too young but our defenders protected him and our goalposts with all their strength.

This made our lady of victory (OLV) to find it difficult to score us. They are very bigger than my players but my players has alot of confidence and skills. We played the second leg this Sunday that just passed and that day we were praying that we win the match. It was almost 4pm and I left the house and went to the field, on my way to the field I took selfies.

I arrived at the field and was greatly surprised at what I was seeing. Another people have match in the field, canopies were arranged for their friends to sit and cheer them up. I saw my boys who were looking very confused and they began to ask me that they thought the Deanery paid for this field, why are we seeing another people in the field by this time.

I saw our opponents OLV who were also confused and we greeted each other then we called the sports committee chairman and told him about what is happening at the field. We wanted to shift our match to the next morning but most of my boys refused because they can't be coming to the field early in the morning. I wasn't happy with their reason at all because it is advisable to always wake up early.

Our men from the church we attend, decided to help us check on the other field because they have connections with people in charge of the field. We all left the first field we wanted to play the match and headed to the other field which is quite close to the place. We arrived at the field and our men talked to those in charge that we have match to play and they agreed since they know the man and we got set for the match after informing the denary that we will be playing the match in another field.

The match started and we also noticed that OLV brought more bigger boys to play with them in the match since they couldn't win the previous match alone. This made my boys and I to panic a bit. I reminded my boys that we won them the previous time because they underestimated us and we will win them again because they are underestimating us since they have more big and star players now.

One thing in life especially during competitions, never underestimate anyone. We did excellently well in the match and the first half ended with a draw then I went to escort the sports committee chairman from where he was, to the football field since he doesn't know the place. We arrived at the field and saw that second half has begun. He switched the ball they were using with that of the denary ball.

We had penalty during the last minute and one of my boys played and scored the penalty then the match ended in our favour, we won again, 1 - 0 and we qualified for the quarter final 💪🔥🫣. We were so excited and our opponents were ashamed of themselves because 70% of them are bigger than my players. We went back home happily, sharing the good news to our parents. It was a memorable I can never forget.
