Cunda Plaza, a Nice Memorable Place

Give a child a good trip, and he will remember it for the rest of his life

I often hear the above quote and I think it's true. The feeling of happiness when traveling or visiting a place is always imprinted on our minds. It becomes a sweet memory that we might tell and repeat to our children later.

Back in my hometown of Lhokseumawe, there was a mall that was very famous at the time. I think it was the only mall in the province of Aceh, and it stood in a city nicknamed Petro Dollar.

Around 1997, my parents took me to visit the mall. I was very happy because in the mall there were many playgrounds that I thought were really sophisticated at that time. The mall was called Cunda Plaza, a shopping center in the very famous city of Lhokseumawe. It was also a sign of the city's golden glory, besides the famous natural gas company.

It was a sweet memory that I remember the most until now. But those are just memories. In 1998 when there was a huge economic crisis and upheaval in the community, the mall was forced to close and now there are only ruins. Even so, I think Cunda Plaza was enough to provide good memories for many people at that time.

Perhaps I was one of the lucky ones who had visited the mall during Lhokseumawe's heyday. Because the place is now a ruined building and no longer operates. Some other people only listen to its history without ever visiting it directly. So I am really very grateful.
