Granny's Rain Prophecy 外婆的雨天预言

"Rain on wedding day? Must've peed on dog's head as a kid!" That's my grandma's favorite weather forecast.

I still remember childhood summers when my naughty brother would aim his pee at stray puppies. Granny would shuffle over in her cloth shoes, swatting his bottom with a bamboo fan: "Little rascal! You'll make your wedding day soggy!" We'd giggle, not believing a word.

Yet here I stand under dripping eaves, watching raindrops race down the red wedding arch. Cousin Li's daughter is getting married in this curtain of silver threads. My mother chuckles, stirring ginger tea in the steaming kitchen: "Your cousin flooded three doghouses before turning ten!"

Through misty windows, I see the bride's satin shoes sinking into muddy puddles. The groom carries her piggyback, both laughing like kids caught in monsoon puddles. Maybe rain makes love stories juicier - like grandma's pickled vegetables soaking up brine.

At the banquet, uncles debate regional superstitions. Auntie Zhang from Shandong claims rain means "heaven's blessings", while Mr. Chen from Guangdong insists it predicts "100 grandsons". The bride's college roommate from London shares: "We say wet weddings prevent dry marriages!" Laughter shakes droplets from the plastic tent.

Later, I find granny's old almanac. Between pressed magnolia petals, she'd scribbled: "Rain washes away childhood mischief." Maybe she knew all along - love grows best in tender moisture.

"结婚落雨？肯定是细伢子往狗头上浇过尿！"这是我外婆的独家天气预报。

记得儿时暑假，表弟总对着巷口的流浪狗撒野。外婆便趿着布鞋赶来，用蒲扇拍他屁股："小炮子！将来娶亲要变落汤鸡咯！"我们咯咯笑，全当耳旁风。

此刻我站在滴水的屋檐下，看雨珠顺着红喜棚往下淌。大表哥的闺女偏挑了这天出阁。厨房里，我妈搅着姜茶直乐："你哥十岁前浇透了三处狗窝！"

雨幕中，新娘的绣鞋正陷进水洼。新郎背起她趟过泥泞，两人笑作一团，倒像回到那年淋雨的放学路。或许爱情本就要些雨露滋润——就像外婆腌的雪里蕻，总要浸透咸鲜才够味。

喜宴上，七大姑八大姨争说各地风俗。山东张婶说"龙女送嫁"，广东陈叔讲"水漫金山"。新娘的英国同学插嘴："我们伦敦人说湿婚礼才有干婚姻！"满棚笑声震落塑料布上的水珠。

后来翻外婆的老黄历，木樨花标本旁有行小楷："雨水洗淘儿时孽。"忽然明白——原来最朴素的道理，都藏在祖辈的玩笑里。就像稻秧离不得水，姻缘也要些天真莽撞，才能长得葱郁。
