Certainly, I read your concern about the level of current education, and the quality of students, and I can relate.
I taught at a National University, ranked number one in my country, and still present in the top 100 in the World University Index, when I was on active duty.
Decades earlier, I had graduated from that same University. When I compared the level of pressure and demands imposed on me, and the level imposed on my students, decades later, I was surprised that things had softened.
It's not that I'm complaining that things are changing, it's just that I'm surprised that having many more sources of data and information to study, fewer things were required of students in the educational program. It was a matter of overwhelming them, but I think they overdid it and now gave them the feeling that they don't have to try so hard.
In some cases, thanks to new tools and technologies, I have students who can complete their assignments faster and more comfortably, but most students do not pay attention to this and waste the opportunity.
This reality surprises me, and partly scares me.
By the way, the photos of the tree caught my attention, is it a Weeping Willow?

Yes, it is a weeping willow on the lake side not far from the place where I live.
Best regards!
