A few days ago I was talking to someone who works hard but feels that "Success has not knocked on his door ", this is something particularly curious, because for me he is a successful person, I think that this concept can vary greatly from one person to another, and obviously, what for some is usually something great for others is just the beginning.
But beyond what he thinks, he is kind of obsessed by the question what is the secret of success?, and in particular I don't think there is a secret, or maybe there is, but it is so basic that many people don't notice it.
I also think that success is going to depend a lot on what people consider it to be, because if we think that we will only be successful when we have our own airplane, a house with a swimming pool and spend our days traveling, then we may have a biased idea of what success is, and we may not even be successful at all, despite achieving great things, even if they don't include an airplane.
If we analyze the lives of great people who have gone down in history for their great results, we can see people who amassed great fortunes, this is obvious, but also people who, although they always lived in a state of economic limitation, are perceived as very successful people, for their achievements for the benefit of humanity.
I will give a clear example of this:
Do the names Frederick Banting and Charles Best ring a bell? These people, great scientists, were the pioneers in the study of Diabetes, and they were the ones who discovered how to obtain Insulin, which helped to save millions of lives, today we owe it to them.
However, even though they could have become super millionaires by selling the patent of their discovery, they did not do it, but rather chose to make this gift to humanity, practically leaving the patent for global use, without charging for it.
Of course, later the pharmaceutical industry took advantage of this and began to commercialize it, charging a lot of money for it and generating millions in the process. And it is fine, it is a company, its purpose is to create wealth, but the creators did not get any money for it, and they are characters that are remembered as successful, as well as those who took the idea and as entrepreneurs commercialized it.
This, logically, is very variable, since in both cases we can see great achievements, where what is constant is **preparation, hard work and the possibility of learning from failures.
We can see this in every case we review of characters from the past or even the present. Because while it is true that we can see people who achieved success very quickly, usually the fall of these people is also very fast, because it was not a process that allowed them to learn properly, and at the slightest complication they usually fall.
So, if there is a magic formula or a secret for success, we can undoubtedly mention hard and intelligent work, perseverance and learning when we make mistakes.
