The world of insects is a very curious one. There is a great variety of these invertebrates. Some are more appreciated than others, but we must not forget that each one has a fundamental role in nature.

Today I want to share some photos of an insect that is a little feared for its stings. Today we will see a wasp up close!

This is a common wasp. It is not as admired as bees, but it belongs to the same taxonomic order (Heminoptera).

Wasps are strong jawed insects. They are able to cut pieces of bark from trees to chew and form a paste to build their wasp nest.

Wasps are beautiful insects. They have a pair of membranous wings that cover their backs like a cape.

Believe it or not, they are insects that also participate in the pollination process and eliminate some parasitic larvae of some crops. We can say that wasps are a type natural pesticide.

Sometimes there is so much pollen on the flowers that it takes these insects a moment to clean their antennae, head and legs.

Once cleaned, the wasps move on without wasting much time. Their life tim is very short. On average, a wasp lives for about 30 days.
