Ok, I admit as a Liverpool fan, I was a little nervous about this game. I had not seen Nottingham play but their results have been spectacular, plus they were the home team. By the eighth minute my doubts were more than firm, they had already scored their goal.
This is the Liverpool goal.
So the first half continued and Liverpool did not look too good, a lot of mistakes and the attacks seemed like they had no ideas behind them. Nottingham looked real solid. Eventually this ended and I figured a different Liverpool for the second half.
Actually the second half was, at first a mirror image of the first one, certainly more Liverpool attacks but without much intensity. What Liverpool had quite a few of were corners, Jota came on when one was going to be executed. And boy he just went in and sent a header to the back of the net. A lucky goal? Of course, you don't just go in and your first touch is a goal happens on very rare occasions.
Now after this goal I saw the Liverpool I like to see, an attacking machine but today the Nottingham goalkeeper was great, I don't know if he is this good or just had a great game, but if this is his current form he must be the best Premier League goalkeeper at the moment.
So it was a draw, good for Liverpool, a point away and against a direct rival has to be good. For Nottingham I guess they have divided feelings, they needed a win, but they also just barely escaped from a loss. So I guess overall both teams must feel good about how this ended.
