There is not a single person here. Ironically, there are few people who have not been stung by a true bee. Almost everyone has been lucky enough to be stung by a bee at some point in their life. Or not?? For those who haven't been lucky enough to be stung yet, look forward to enjoying a bee sting, you'll get what everyone else got, haha. You may meet a bee any day in your life.
In earlier days bee hives were found on the roof corner walls of almost every house and on the branches of large trees, from which a lot of honey was collected. Honey collected by bees is a great medicine for humans. It is completely scientifically tested. According to me there is only one thing in the world that has no side effects. And that is honey. Honey is a food that never rots. You will be surprised to hear more, we know that sweets are the favorite food of ants. If any sweet food is kept on the floor of the 10-storey building, it can be seen that ants are also there. But honey never needs ants. It may be the infinite mercy of the Creator. We only appreciate the honey. But few of us tried to know the life cycle of this small animal, the honey maker.

Beekeeping and collecting honey from bees in a scientific manner is called apiculture. Basically, apiculture refers to the science of beekeeping.

You may be surprised to hear that there is only one queen bee in a hive. The only function of the male or king bees in the hive is to participate in reproduction. It is said that they have no other job except to participate in reproduction.
এখানে একজনও নেই৷হাস্যকর হলেও সত্য মৌমাছির কামড় খাইনি তেমন মানুষও এখানে বিরল।চলতে পথে জীবনের কোনো এক সময়ে মৌমাছির কামড় খাওয়ার সৌভাগ্য সবার হয়েছে মোটামুটিভাবে। নাকি নয়?? এখনোও যাদের মৌমাছির কামড় খাওয়ার সৌভাগ্য হয়নি তারা মৌমাছির কামড় উপভোগ করার জন্য অপেক্ষায় থাকুন, সবাই যেটা পেয়েছে আপনিও সেটা পাবেন, হাহাহা। জীবদ্দশায় যেকোনো দিন মৌমাছির সাথে দেখা হয়েও যেতে পারে আপনাদের সাথে।
আগেরকার দিনে প্রায় প্রতিটি বাড়ির ছাদের কোনার দেয়ালে এবং বড় বড় গাছের ডালে মৌমাছির চাক পাওয়া যেত, যেখান থেকে সংগ্রহ হতো অনেক মধু। মৌমাছির সংগ্রহ করা মধু মানুষের জন্য মহৌষধ স্বরুপ। এটা একদমই বৈজ্ঞানিকভাবে পরীক্ষিত। আমার মতে পৃথিবীতে একটি মাত্র জিনিস আছে যার কোন সাইড ইফেক্ট নাই। আর সেটা হলো মধু। মধু এমন একটি খাবার যেটা কখনোই পঁচেনা। আরো শুনলে অবাক হবেন, আমরা জানি মিষ্টি জাতীয় দ্রব্য পিঁপড়ার খুব প্রিয় খাবার। ১০ তলা বিল্ডিং এর ফ্লোরেও যদি মিষ্টি কোন খাবার রাখা হয়, দেখা যায় সেখানেও পিপড়া লেগেছে। কিন্তু মধুতে কখনোই পিঁপড়া লাগে না। এটা হতে পারে সৃষ্টিকর্তার অশেষ রহমত। আমরা শুধু মধুর কদর করি।কিন্তু মধুর কারিগর ক্ষুদ্র এই প্রাণী মৌমাছির জীবন চক্র জানার চেষ্টা করেছিলাম ক'জন।

পড়ছিলাম। এখানে কয়েকটি অজানা বিষয় আমাকে অবাক করে দিয়েছে। তাই ভাবলাম বিষয়গুলো আপনাদের সাথে শেয়ার করি। বাকি কথা আলোচনা করবো।
এপিকালচার
বৈজ্ঞানিক পদ্ধতিতে মৌমাছি পালন এবং মৌমাছি থেকে মধু সংগ্রহ করাকেই বলা হয় এপিকালচার।মোটকথা, এপিকালচার বলতে মৌমাছি পালন বিদ্যাকেই বোঝায়।
মৌমাছি পতঙ্গ জাতীয় একটি প্রাণী৷ মৌমাছিও মোটামুটি মানুষের মতই সমাজে বসবাস করে। এজন্য এদেরকেও সামাজিক জীব বলা যেতে পারে৷ তবে এদের বসবাসের স্থান হলো মৌচাক৷ এই মৌচাকে থাকে তিন ধরনের মৌমাছি। ১.রাণী মৌমাছি ২.রাজা বা পুরুষ মৌমাছি এবং ৩. কর্মী মৌমাছি।
মৌমাছি। রানী মৌমাছির একমাত্র কাজ হলো ডিম পাড়া।একটি রানী মৌমাছি দিনে ১৪০০-১৫০০টি ডিম দেয়। এরা আনুমানিক তিন বছর বাঁচে।শুনলে অবাক হবেন, একটি মৌচাকে শুধুমাত্র একটি রানী মৌমাছি থাকে। মৌচাকে যে পুরুষ বা রাজা মৌমাছিগুলো থাকে এদের কাজ শুধু বংশবিস্তারে অংশগ্রহণ করা। প্রজননে অংশগ্রহণ ছাড়া এদের আর কোন কাজ নাই বললেই চলে।এরা মধুও সংগ্রহ করে না।মৌচাকে যেসব কর্মী মৌমাছি থাকে এরা জাতে স্ত্রী তবে বন্ধ্যা, ডিম দিতে পারে না।মানে প্রজনন বা বংশবিস্তারে এদের কোন ভূমিকা নেই। কর্মী মৌমাছিদের প্রধান কাজ মধু সংগ্রহ করা এবং মৌচাক তৈরি করা।

I love bees, but I hate the fact that I have been stung by one more times than I can count, at least five times. That's just the bare minimum.
(Although I can't stay mad at them for too long because their honey is really good. So I take it as a peace offering)
