Yesterday's Photos Shoot and Beach Day

Yesterday I was a driver and babysitter for my wife as she had a photoshoot. Luckily for me, the shoot took place at a beach only about 30 minutes from where we live, so the driving was not bad compared to if it would have been in Accra which would mean an hour and a half of driving.

I posted this picture sometime around 2021 of a gallery open for the same artist who did the shoot with Dzibordi yesterday. His photos use very bright colors and come out almost like paintings. When we first got to the place for the photo shoot the models first needed to do their hair and makeup. This meant that I needed to keep Bjorn occupied. Here he is with a banana seller and his truck just behind his head.

He made a friend who wandered in from a neighboring house. This boy looked about 3 but was just a little taller than Bjorn, who is now 15 months old. I think the boy was very interested in Bjorn's truck and not a lot else.

The production then moved down the the beach where Dzigbordi with her new hairstyle posed with some giant balloons.

Me and the boy hung out in the shade and drank some water and beer.

Many of the locals came out and enjoyed the show also.

The models did their own group shot on the beach.

This shoot was very well organized and not stressful at all. At lunch of course the girls had a chance to catch up on some chatting.

Overall they probably shot about 25 concepts some with professional models and some with just some local women and even this horse.

If you go to Instagram you can get an idea of what these will look like after he is finished editing them. His flavor of art on his Instagram he calls it hueism.

Bjorn still needed his momma between some of the shots. They were getting ready for a shot with the both of them coming up.

We ended up giving Bjorn an apple to keep him occupied but he was so fixated on the apple it was harder to get him to smile. But they looked amazing nonetheless.

Above are a few of the other behind-the-scenes shots and concepts they did.

Late in the afternoon a storm front rolled in and created some dramatic skies. They shifted from the beach to a wall as a backdrop at this point for the last few concepts to shoot.

I think that this concept my wife did gave her baby fever again holding the little girl at the front and Bjorn at the back. I was able to get him to laugh and smile this time when I wasn't taking a picture. I had to remind Dzigbordi to return the baby to her mother when she was done.

The last shot was probably the most awkward because of the pain in the knees and the heat of being wrapped in plastic. It will be interesting to see what Derrick does with it.

Overall it was a good day Dzigbordi had fun on the shoot and got paid so all was a success. We got home and found that it had rained heavily there even though it only gave us a few drops at the beach.
