Anglo-Saxons people wore clothes made from wools or animal skins. Men wore tunics , with tight trousers and leggings wrapped with strips of cloth and leather.
Women wore long dresses. Women spun the wool from sheep and goats to make thread. They used a loom to weave the thread into cloth. Clothing styles vary from region to region among the Anglo-Saxons.
As regards job opportunities, men, women and children. Men cut down trees to make way for ploughing and sowing crops. Farmers engage with oxen to pull ploughs up and down long strips of field. Children with dogs herded cattle and sheep. They kept a lookout for wolves, which still lived in Britain at that time.
Some people had special skills. The smiths made iron tools, knives and swords. Wood workers made wooden bowls, furniture, carts and wheels. Potters made pottery from clay. Shoemakers made leather shoes. Jewellers made metallic beads, brooches, laces, and gold ornaments for rich people
Anglo-Saxon leaders were expected to entertain their followers with rewarding feasts such as gifts in reward for their loyalty and support. Also treasury after a victory in battle, perhaps a roasted bear after a successful hunt. The feast is usually held in the lord's great hall with entertainments.
Last but not least, on dark winter days, people gathered together in the hall along a log fire. They sang and listen stories and poems from other people. They entertain themselves with roasted meat and fruit. They also drink ale and mead as part of refreshments.
