God's Spirit works within you as you give up your desires and allow His love and grace to shape your character.

But...but...but...He gave you the desires - did he not ? (by the christian definitions of 'man being made in the image of god'.)

This is not an all benevolent god (as preached by Christianity) - it's sadistic, by definition.

Imagine an all knowing, all powerful being, then designing a living organism to suffer all their lives?
