Aunque dicen que los peores negocios son los que se hacen con la familia, nadie puede negar que, las fiestas, son otro beta.
Desde el mes anterior, habían pasado la invitación por WhatsApp, para celebrar los 30 años de la esposa de mi sobrino, a la cual le decimos la gorda. ¿Por qué? No tengo idea, pero así le decimos, y creo que es la única mujer a quien se le dice gorda y no pasa nada... al menos, dentro de mis conocidos, ha sido la única experiencia de llamar a una mujer gorda, y salir ileso.
Lo cierto es que, después de una jornada de trabajo de 9 horas, y un retorno a la casa de hora y media, a la velocidad de un rayo, entré a la ducha, abrí la llave del agua caliente, y salió fría.
Tomé una toalla, y al mejor estilo sensual de Tarzán, salí de la casa para encender el calefon. Después de hacer varios intentos fallidos (este malvado calefon es de esos que se encienden por un huequito con un fósforo) me dispuse a revisar el cilindro de gas.
¡Sorpresa!
Estaba completamente vacío. Anteriormente, había visto que los colocan de costado y suelta el poco gas que tiene, y quise intentar hacer lo mismo.
Cabe destacar, que para este momento, habían pasado 6 minutos y ya la temperatura había bajado a 5 grados. Como todo un Mc. Giver, sí, ese de la película que todo lo resolvía con cualquier cosa que se encontrara en el suelo) quité el cilindro vacío y saqué el de la cocina.
Me sentía Win Hof, pero como todo un dios griego. Desconecto la vacía, coloco la llena, y zassssss, tampoco prendió. Reviso las conexiones y encuentro que el regulador se había dañado.
¡Santos reguladores, steemians!
Nada que hacer, me toco usar la vieja confiable; monté una olla en la cocina, vuelvo a instalar la bombona, y le doy toda la llama al asunto. Para este momento (unos 15 minutos en total), me sentía Beast porque tenía la piel azul por el frío otoñal que golpea esta ciudad.
A las 8 pm, estaba listo con mi flamante esposa, solicité un Uber, y nos fuimos al son de los Corraleros de Majagual.

I felt like Win Hof, but more like a Greek god. I disconnected the empty one, installed the full one, and voila, it still didn't light. I checked the connections and found that the regulator was damaged. Holy regulators, steemians! At 8 pm, I was ready with my lovely wife, called for an Uber, and we headed off to the sounds of the Corraleros de Majagual. |

Todo estuvo bien; Encuentros de viejas amistades y otras que no conocía, pero que en la fiesta, parecía que nos conociéramos de años. Aunque se colocaron algunos temas musicales chilenos, principalmente cumbias, dominó nuestra esencia caribeña con salsa, merengues y el imbatible Argenis Carruyo.
Estuvimos hasta las 2 am (algo que jamás hago, a menos que esté estudiando programación), conversamos de muchos temas, además de bailar. Política, economía y lo que haríamos al vivir en los Estados unidos para el tercer trimestre de este año.
¿Qué? ¿No lo sabían?
Pues, sí. Ya estoy preparando mis macundales y recogiendo los corotos para dejar este país que, por más de 6 años, me dio cobijo y me permitió salir adelante.
¿Por qué me voy?
Todo lo que huela a socialismo le saco el cuerpo, y a pesar de que los venezolanos que estábamos en Chile lo advertimos, no pararon pelotas y escogieron a la persona más inepta e incapaz de este planeta como presidente... aunque creo que hay una seria disputa entre este y Maduro, jaja.
Para despedirme, les comparto otras fotos del momento, donde felices, compartimos anécdotas, historias y planes futuros dentro y fuera de Chile.
Everything went well; Meetings with old friends and others I didn't know, but at the party, it seemed like we had known each other for years. Although some Chilean musical themes were played, mainly cumbias, our Caribbean essence dominated with salsa, merengues, and the unbeatable Argenis Carruyo. We stayed until 2 am (something I never do unless I'm studying programming), talked about many topics besides dancing. Politics, economy, and what we would do when living in the United States for the third quarter of this year. What? Didn't you know? Well, yes. I'm already packing my macundales and gathering my corotos to leave this country that, for over 6 years, sheltered me and allowed me to move forward. Why am I leaving? I avoid anything related to socialism, and despite warnings from us Venezuelans in Chile, they didn't listen and chose the most inept and incapable person on this planet as president... although I think there's a serious competition between him and Maduro, haha. To bid farewell, I share more photos of the moment, where happily, we shared anecdotes, stories, and future plans within and outside of Chile. |
