How did you get involved in the cryptocurrency?

When talking about cryptocurrency, many people very first reaction is like “oh no, it’s a scam, don’t do that”, then after serval months or years when they see the BTC hits the record high, they yell “oh my god, I should listen to your advice…blah blah blah”

To myself, personally I only heard about Bitcoin on the TV report when it came out back in 2009, I didn’t take it too seriously as I knew nothing about it backward. Until late 2016, my friend asked me about Bitcoin and I simply told him that I only know this stuff but I am illiterate on it.

He then told me if I want to collect BTC for free, I said why not, it’s a good chance to learn and earn some little pocket money, while BTC price was about US$926 only!!!

I had been collecting on the BTC faucet for months and I though it’s really exhausted to keep collecting in every 5 / 15 / 20 mins on different faucet web sites. I saved up about 0.014 BTC in June / July 2017 then stopped claiming on the faucet for months.

When I check the BTC price again, it pumped to US$ 17000+ already in Nov 2017 then I started regret I stopped claiming on the faucet for months. I remember the value of my BTC on hand was about US$ 29 something.

After I found that my wallet’s value went up to US$260 with only 0.014 BTC, I noticed that the cryptocurreny is the best investment tools in the coming years, then I decide to keep claim on faucet while I am learning about this aspect.

Until July 2019, I found the Steemit platform and joined it but I didn’t figure out how does it operate until Apr 2020, but I still doing with the crypto faucet at the same time. I completely stopped with the faucet by Sep 2021 as I already familiar with the Hive blog, Defi, etc…then there’s no point to spend too much time on the faucet anymore for only few bucks a month.

In fact, most of my favorite faucets started shutting down since the end of 2020, I don’t have much faucet to collect the coin anymore even if I still wanted to do so. And I though such faucet is completely disappeared under the AI and Web3 concept are introduced in the past 2 years.

What a surprise, when I am cleaning the old mail in my email box, I found one old email from the faucet which is the password reset link, then I try to click on their official link to see if the faucet still there and they are still surviving!!! Let me check when was my last withdrawal on the faucet, it was Sep 2021, I stopped using the faucets for 2 and half years. Time really flies, huh!!!

I spent minutes being nostalgic, think about the day that I kept claiming on the faucet everyday backward, and the life was easier (as I was yet to join the current company, my previous job was in the High Court while I used the faucet most frequent). Anyway I am not going to use the faucet to claim anymore as said.

In conclusion, the crypto faucet was the bridge that took me to the cryptocurrency world. Although it didn’t help me to get giant profit, it gave me the starting fund to learn about how to trade on the exchange apps, how to transfer and receive token on your own wallet, it still got some contribution to me in my crypto journey.
