Hello beautiful people. Sometime ago I came across an Instagram reel where someone said - "Many Christians are not employable." The Christian in me refuted that statement. In fact, I found it offensive. But when I gave it an objective look and recounted some experiences that I have had with some Christians in the workforce, I had to shamefully agree.
A friend of mine kept complaining about a particular staff of his who would shut down his business almost all the time to attend some church meetings, until he finally laid him off. A cleaner at my workplace would clean the office and you would doubt if she really cleaned the office, mind you she does this her cleaning with gospel music and messages playing from her phone and sometimes even praying along under her breath. You would expect someone with such consistency at her personal life should give even better at her professional life.
Some people will expect God to come down from heaven and do their jobs because they are praying to him or worshipping him, they expect God to shape their behavior and make them act right. Anything you say to them, they will respond with something and make sure they put God in the response.
Is it good to serve God? Yes
Is it good to expect God to do what you should do? No
Is it good to abandon your work because you are reading your bible? No
There is time for everything.
We should always know and understand that we are doing these things with other humans involved. It may not even be about a particular religion; it may be a personal belief, and you keep messing it up because you want everyone to align to what you feel you believe and that is wrong.
My point is that unprofessionalism and laxity in the workplace have been a common trait amongst believer and it ought not to be. In terms of branding, we ought to be originally branded with excellence as believers because we have got the Spirit of excellence in us.
I commend every person that has been putting in the extra effort in their business and workplace to make a difference and charge those who must consider doing so.
We should henceforth do all that we do with excellence in mind and not like a chore that can be done by just anyone else.
This is a mandate we must carry with us anywhere we go to and that will lead to us having a wonderful time wherever we are and in whatever we are doing.
