Hello beautiful people. Influence is the power, capacity or force used to either empower, shapen, convert, capture or corrupt another person in their behavior and patterns of thinking especially through status, wealth, contact, and most commonly words and actions.
Influence is neutral and can be used positively or negatively depending on who is influencing and who is influenced.
Influence can happen directly, indirectly, passively and actively. Take for example the case of Purity who was well trained by her parent but when they sent her to spend a holiday with her aunty - Glory, she witnessed another life.
Glory was a two face human being, outside she would dress well, talk to people with care and was so nice to everyone.
Inside her home, she was another person, always on the phone, negotiating her body, she would then dress up and visit the highest bidder. When she wasn't doing that, she was quarrelling with men who refused to pay her for her services and mostly walking around without clothes.
Purity had never seen anything like it in her entire life. One day, Purity came back from the market and walked in to meet her aunty crying bitterly. The only man she ever loved had caught her with another man.
It was the end of their relationship.
Purity returned home after the holiday a different girl. No matter how she tried, she had issues with everyman who met her. A few years later, she got married, then divorced.
After marrying 4 men and have 6 children she decided that enough was enough.
One faithful day she realized her patterns of communication was exactly like that of her aunty Glory, she was not happy except she was quarreling with somebody. Every one have her space, no one wanted to be associated with her.
She retraced her steps and decided to change. It took her conscious effort for 2 years before she could find peace again. Influence of 3 months had ruined 30 years of her life.
This is how influence works, it seeps into the subconscious and grows there for many years before getting to it's full potential.
Many times, the influencer will not be aware of the extent of their influence or the power they posses to imprint on another person.
Mr. David was an avid reader and he lived in a compound with 6 flats and a lot of children. Every evening he would sit out and read a storybook book to the only blind child in the compound. People began to notice him. He bought a lot of storybooks.
Soon children would come to hear him read, from two children, it became 10 children, then 20. Soon children from distant compounds would gather to listen to him read stories. His actions not only got him an international job but every child in the area when asked "who made you to love reading?".
They would quickly mention Mr. David.
