Hello beautiful people. Between fall of 2024 (December) and early 2025 (January), a certain experience taught me a valuable lesson about time and perseverance.
With the power outage in the country - National grid collapse, I had to charge my phone and power bank outside with vendors who charge money for a period to enable pyiu power up your devices.
After plugging them, I asked the shop owner the time and estimated a 20-minute walk back to my apartment. Because no clock in my room. I had neighbours, but they all traveled.
Determined not to ask anyone for the time, I started counting seconds to minutes. The initial 7 minutes were tough, it felt like an eternity! But as I continued, I got distracted and lost track of time.
I desperately wanted to figure out how much time I had spent on my way back to my apartment and there was no way to know, time was passing by, I knew this because every step I took towards my apartment, a second or two passed. At a point I stopped walking and stood under a tree to look at people walking.
Some of them were walking briskly like they had a deadline they needed to beat and if they didn't they would lose something dear, while some of them walked leisurely like they had nothing else to do in the world, they had no where to go and nothing to achieve.
That's when it hit me: time is relative.
Our perception of it changes based on our focus and mindset. For me, I wanted time to hurry by because I wanted my gadgets to be well charged and at the same time, someone else out there needed the time to slow down because
Time may seem slow or fast, but it's constantly moving. Every second counts, and how we utilize it shapes our lives. As much as I would not like to go deeply into what we use our time to do, we all have the same available time, we all have 24 hours to spend on ourselves to achieve certain things and to become great, all we need to do is focus on the time and realize what it will useful for.
Focus on the present moment.
Stay engaged and motivated.
Don't waste time; make the most of it. Every second that has gone by is not coming back to us. You must also note that time remains relative, while you feel you have little time left, someone people feel they have too much time.
This experience reminded me to appreciate the value of time and make every moment count.
