Flint heads west on the Mother Road

Well almost...

actually Flint made the 2 day trek from Tulsa, Oklahoma to Kingman, Arizona along Interstate 40 which parallels old Route 66. He was another lucky stray that was rescued and now the good folks at the Brittany Spaniel rescue NBRAN were sending here to her new forever home here in AZ.
My legs would cover much of the Arizona part from the NM state line in Lupton

over to the "Gateway to the Grand Canyon" a few hundred miles away in Williams.

I camped out at the Lupton rest area so that I didn't have such a early start from home (it's a 4 or 5 hour drive) and enjoyed a surprisingly restful night despite the freeway and busy train tracks not far away.

Flint was supposedly a nervous puppy but when he arrived he was friendly and not the least bit skittish.

It didn't take long for Flint to settle in to the back seat and make himself right at home for the upcoming long drive.
No nervousness or jitters, just a relaxed and mellow Brittany that loved a bit of attention and gentle petting every now and then.

Before long he decided to lay down and nap while the stark northern Arizona landscape flashed by.

I wish that I could have ridden in back but this was a solo trip and Flint didn't want to ride up front.
The miles went by all to quickly and soon it was time to hand off Flint for the short last leg before he would meet his new adopters and begin his new life in Kingman.
A few minutes watching him stretch his skinny legs and body before wishing him a fond farewell.

I thought that I would share some of my stories of my involvement with transporting/helping out rescue animals (mostly dogs). This is something that I have been doing for the past 7 years or so.
No pay or professionals - just a bunch of great volunteers working together to help the less fortunate animals.
💖Happy stories that I hope you all enjoy💖

Here are some rescue organizations that I have worked with and support. Please help out these great people and seek out some of the many other rescue organizations - they always need our help.
