Time to get caught up on my recent rescue volunteering adventures.
Sigh....
another day, another poor pup abandoned to the fate of a shelter.
Fortunately little boy McCoy's days wouldn't end in a shelter in West Virginia but instead he was a lucky Beagle who was on his way to the Arizona Beagle Rescue and a second chance for a good life.
He was dumped at a shelter in WV after his owner decided that he wasn't useful for hunting anymore. Of course owner surrenders are the first to be put down but luckily for McCoy the Arizona Beagle Rescue was notified and soon he was safe with a foster until it was his turn to head west to his rescue.
Although McCoy's adventure would take 3 days our leg was a (relatively) short few hours from Holbrook to Payson here in Arizona. If course our Lulu was her usual "gruff and tuff" Texas girl but she soon settled down next to McCoy for the ride.
Despite being a Beagle McCoy didn't make a peep and was more interested in soaking up our company and lots of love.
Then it was time to rest as the miles and highway zipped on by.
As always the miles fly by and soon it was time for McCoy to meet his foster momma who would take him on his final leg and a safe and happy home.
Now he's living the life and no doubt he'll find his forever family to love him.
Of course there are still thousands of shelter dogs needing to be rescued so no doubt I'll be on the road again all too soon.
I thought that I would share some of my stories of my involvement with transporting/helping out rescue animals (mostly dogs). This is something that I have been doing for the past 7 years or so.
No pay or professionals - just a bunch of great volunteers working together to help the less fortunate animals.
💖Happy stories that I hope you all enjoy💖
Here are some rescue organizations that I have worked with and support. Please help out these great people and seek out some of the many other rescue organizations - they always need our help.
