I seldom go to the mall for grocery shopping, but when I do, that means I need cheese, MCT oil, quality pasta, and sometimes just craving for shit food ,lol. So where do I usually have my grocery shopping? In farmers market, because everything is fresh and on top of that, it means I am supporting our local farmers. I only go to the mall at least once a week, most likely. What a surprised when I went to the mall this week. Right at the mall entrance, I saw "DOGS FOR ADOPTION". This was lead by lovely old couples. I'm glad they have given love, time, attention, and even spend their onw money to take care of stray dogs. Yes, I know, there's no way they can save all the dogs for there are thousands of them homeless. And saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that one dog, the world will change forever.
At Dumaguete Animal Sanctuary, hundreds of rescues are waiting to find their fur-ever homes. Many of it have been rescued from death row, from local pounds or from abusive environments. They are all vaccinated, dewormed and neutered and can be adopted anytime, just with prior registration. Salute this this loving couple who has great compassion to this fur babies and because of that, this organization was born.
Though I caught them very busy preparing all the set-up, Estilla the wife who is very friendly and accommodating, noticed me and gave her full attention to me, so we had a short conversation about how the organization was born and that it started when they had moved in this country, and that ,seeing those homeless dogs breaks their hearts, they have never seen like that in U.S. which I fully understood because it breaks my heart too. But we can't save all the dogs every time we see them roaming around in the street, so that's the reason they have made this steps.
I was hoping people would adopt those dogs, they were pretty cute. By choosing to adopt, you are giving an animal the chance to find a new home and to feel the love and security they deserve. You are also helping free up more space in our shelters, allowing us to rescue and rehabilitate more animals.
There were lots of people checking those cuties when I left, at the back of my mind hoping they would all find homes, I hoped when I'm on my way out from the mall I would not be able to see them there but find their new family and home. Luckily, there were 4 left. Whew! Congrats for those puppies. May they be good boy!
By the way, she told me to visit their sanctuary but because I'm still busy of my work schedule and we already have three dogs to take care, unfortunately until now I wasn't able to show up. I already checked on their Facebook page and hoping to drop there one day and give donation for the dogs basic needs. They are actually accepting any form of donation for the rescues dogs. Are you animal lover? I am!
