Today with @outlinez we went to buy seed for potatoes so that we can prepare the material for planting. Or more precisely, to start the process called in Bulgaria "рътене". The potatoes are placed in a cool and dark room with the "eyes" up, without overlapping, and are kept like this for about 40 days before planting. During this time, they release "tubers", which significantly accelerates vegetation. It is considered that:
"Rooted material makes better use of spring moisture, and these crops cover and shade the soil earlier and protect it from evaporation and overheating."

Last year we bought potatoes that we really liked - the Impala variety. Unfortunately, the store we shop from told us that they stopped selling the Impala variety and we had to choose another type of potato. We decided on the Sante variety - a high-yielding variety suitable for conventional and organic production. It is characterized by yellow meat and excellent taste. We'll see if we like it.
After shopping, we headed to the village of Trastikovo, where various other things had to be done. From there I took some pictures of the town hall, the abandoned school, the chickens running free in the streets and a beautiful white flower.
Thank you for stopping by!
