Off onto the Spence Spring trails for almost 8 miles of fun on the dirt single-track under beautiful sunny skies and mild temperatures compared to the cold, gray and sleety/rainy conditions the last time I ran this route.
I was in the mode for trail mileage after our morning walk and my legs were feeling pretty good after my 24 hour and I figured a slower pace would be a good training run for my longer races.
I met a few mountain bikers at the trailhead but I didn't meet anyone on my run. The first 2 miles were a tough climb on the twisting Vista Trail that brought me up to the Javelina Trail from which I branched off onto a series of single-track that wound down to rejoin the Javelina after another 3 miles. A bit more on the easy Javelina and then another twisting 2 miles back to the trailhead.
An easy hike along Lynx Lake to wrap up my day and give Lulu some fun time in the forest.
