My legs seem to be recovering well after my 81 miles Saturday but my pace is a lot easier and it takes me a bit longer to loosen up completely - still I'm thrilled with how the weekend ultramarathon went.
Lulu was ready to roll before the sun had risen but she was content to wait until I had my morning coffee ☕️ before heading out. Since they're doing site work on the large field where we walk qe had to take a longer route around the area before heading home so it was a nice 2 miles to start the day.
My run started slowly with 2 miles on the morning route again before climbing up the grade onto the neighborhood roads that would provide a bit more challenging course but wouldn't trash my tired legs.
The miles went by nicely and I finished up with about 10 km total which is a good effort.
Lulu and I changed up our afternoon hike a bit with a couple of miles on the trails over at Granite Basin as gray clouds gathered over Prescott.
We had the forest trails all to ourselves except for a few ground squirrels and birds ( Lulu wasn't interested in chasing them today) and even the lake was quiet.
Still, a good day as I plan my next ultra over New Year's.
