It's now 14 hours into the Fat Ox 24 hours, and I'm taking a sleep break to see if my rapidly deteriorating lower legs can recover enough to push out to 100 km (I'm currently at 53 miles).
I was actually running a decent 10 minutes per mile for just about 10 miles before I figured it was best to start power walking the flat mile loop course. Plenty of great runners but my goal is to try to hit 60 plus miles although there was a glimmer of hope for 100 miles- that disappeared around 45 miles when I had to rest my sore knees for a bit.
I did perk up a bit for almost 10 miles but now my lower legs feel dead and I can only hope dome time resting in my car might help a little but if not I'll have still improved nicely.
