I'm now down to a week until my NM 24 hour trail run/hike so I'm concentrating on some nice steady mileage for a few more days before heading out next Thursday. Have my race day gear bag pretty much packed and the rest of my kit is pretty much set.
It wasn't as chilly this morning so Lulu and I enjoyed a very nice early walk. No one else was out so it was a leisurely 2 miles to get us started off.
We finally got our car back from the shop so Lulu and I would get back to our afternoon hikes around Lynx Lake but for now my run would be up and over and around the hills of Sierry Peaks for 7 miles.
I did 2 miles looping around on the roads next to our area before running 2 loops on the large field before beginning the 3 mile hilly section through the Peaks neighborhood. A couple of easier miles followed before I enjoyed a nice swift 2 miles zipping back downhill to home. Felt good and my pace was good so now to get my mind motivated for the 24.
It was good to get back over to the lake for a late afternoon 2 miles along the shore. Only a few people out walking but plenty of birds in the trees and on the lake for company.
