Not too bad of a run along a few miles of the Aspen Trail. This roller coaster trail is part of the Prescott Circle Trail (about 25 miles into the Whiskey Basin ultra).
The first mile was mostly a twisting climb up the the high point before beginning a long descent back around towards rejoining Copper Basin Road.
I ran along at a relatively slower pace - the trail isn't technical but I just didn't feel like pushing myself that hard. I actually was feeling really good after the initial climb and I was enjoying my time on the dirt.
Unfortunately a very steep but short climb from the trail back onto the main road seemed to duck the life out of my legs and I hiked the last uphill mile back to the trailhead.
We finished up with a slow loop around Lynx Lake. Lulu had a great hike but my legs felt very tired so I'm hoping I'm better for tomorrow.
