My Actifit Report Card: August 12 2024

in actifit •  4 months ago

I really put in a hard day today with 3 separate workouts with the main being a brutal 9.5 mile hike over a really tough trail around Little Granite Mountain a few miles away in the Granite Basin Wilderness Area. Lots of sun, heat, but I did GREAT. Hopefully my body will recover quickly.

Since the hike would be too much for Lulu we added on another loop in the large field so she ended up with a healthy 2.5 miles to start her day and then I headed off to start before the weather turned too hot.
I was the only person at the trailhead and met no one else out there as well. The trail immediately climbed up a narrow gully as rain runoff had worn down into the gravel so it was a tough first mile.
After that it was up and down along a very narrow track that was marked in only a few spots (good thing I had my Alltrails app with me).

The trail was without any shade for the first 5 miles before I joined up with the Granite Mountain trail where the pines provided me with some nice shade before I turned back up into the mountain to finish up with a couple of miles climbing before a short and steep descent back down the trail to finish.

I drank 3 liters on the hike and probably could have drank another couple of liters but it wad a fantastic effort.
I managed to slog through a loop around Lynx Lake late in the afternoon so Lulu could have her fun. Definitely slower and my legs were tired but it's not a hard route.
33 k steps so tomorrow will probably be an easy or rest day - maybe some crystal hunting.
