It was another hot day back in Prescott with the thermometer up into the upper 90s once again, but fortunately, Copper Basin was cooler and breezy for a day there.
Several of our friends were walking early this morning so as to avoid the forecasted hot day ahead. Lulu was happy to see and trot along with her friends, so we moved along quickly and covered the 2 miles in good time.
The lack of any real rain in months meant the road to Copper Basin was dusty and my car was covered in grime when we parked along the damp wash.
Lulu was eager to get going and explore the surrounding woods for squirrels or rabbits but just a few chipmunks were out and they quickly ran away.
Ww traveled a slightly downhill route along the wash to one of our prospecting spots where Lulu found a shady spot to watch me work.
It was very dusty and dirty work as I worked through several buckets of dirt but a steady breeze helped keep us cooler and Lulu had plenty of water to stay comfy.
Unfortunately the hike back was tough due to the route going a bit uphill and my gear being a bit heavier and my muscles being tired from the digging.
