My Actifit Report Card and Update: February 4 2025

Hi Everyone,

I’m back with another Actifit Report and Update. It has been an interesting week. I’ve made some progress towards promoting my Sapien Loop books. I’ve been consistently posting to X. I’ve posted links to chapters from my first book and one from my new short stories. I’ve also posted multiple-choice questions based on the content in the chapters shared to X. I’ve also shared some pictures to Instagram, which is then automatically shared to the Spectrum Economics Facebook page.

It is very difficult to attract attention. My social media accounts do not receive much traffic. Both my X and Instagram accounts are at a relatively low point. I think I’m shadow banned on Instagram. I think some of the tags on X might be disadvantaged by the algorithms. I also think X accounts that don’t have the blue tick are greatly disadvantaged by the algorithms.

My books might get a much greater push from an event I’ll be at in June. In June, I’ll have a table at a book event. This is the Belfast, Books, and Ballgowns event. I’ll be there meeting and greeting people. I expect to be giving out free bookmarks.

I’m also hoping that I’ll be able to get a desk at a comic con event. These are tough to get into as they want authors that have more exposure, and I’m unknown in fiction writing. Ultimately, I want more people to read my books. Having a second book is making things a little easier. I guess it shows more commitment to writing.

My Content

I have spent more time on my @captainhive account. I have started writing the Sapien Loop short stories. These stories can help explore some of the characters and fill in some of the gaps in the existing main story told in the book series.

My first short story was about RJ. RJ has not appeared directly in the book series, but his actions have played a part in triggering events. To get to know him better, I posted his first blog. The blog is about matching pies and ice cream.

My second story was about a mission to rescue the Sapes trapped in the slaughterhouses; this story is told in two parts (Links to Part One and Part Two). The collapse of Sapey meant these slaughterhouses were abandoned. The Sapes inside were going to die if not rescued.

The epilogue of the first book mentions the rescue mission but does not explain much about what happened. In the second book, there is a giant statue of Hamlet, who is recognised as a hero. She saved Denise and Orcilla’s lives in the first book. Her story of rescuing over 100,000 Sapes adds to her legend and thus makes her justifiably worthy of having a statue built in her honour.

I posted once on this channel. That was the first Sapien Loop quiz of the year. It has been a big Sapien Loop themed week for me.

In an attempt to attract more participants, I made a few changes to the quiz. The quiz now includes the chapters that the questions have been taken from. I also included one question from the prologue of the second book. There is still around a day left to enter. So far, I have just 5 participants. A little disappointing, but still better than the final two quizzes from last year.

That wraps up this Actifit Report and Update. I wish everyone a great week. I also hope you can stay active. The weather here has been reasonably okay for February. Far better than the beginning of January. It is a little easier to get out and be more active.
