Hi Everyone,
I’m back with another Actifit Report and Update from tumultuous UK. Things have intensified all over the UK. Riots swept the country this weekend. Some of them got out of control. There was a lot of property damage. Some people were injured, but, so far, I don’t believe anyone has been killed in any of the riots. We can take some comfort in that.
Why are people rioting? Most of these riots started off as protests. People are angry about the extent of both illegal and legal migration. The has led to a lack of integration. This is problematic because of the differences in cultures. The segregation of cultures has reinforced the differences. This has created more tensions. Political parties and mainstream media have provoked these tensions further through policies and reporting.
The final trigger was the murder of the three girls in Southport by a young man of Rwandan descent. He is a British citizen born in the UK. His parents migrated to the UK from Rwanda to flee the genocide occurring at that time. There was initial speculation that he was an illegal immigrant. This was caused by the vacuum of information. Police withheld information about him because he was 17 at the time of the murders. However, he was only days away from his 18th birthday.

Misinformation and conspiracy theories, or more accurately conspiracy lies, have played a role in inflaming the violence. The biggest and most obvious lie has been about the ‘far right’. Who are the far right? Far right is an extreme ideology. It is ultranationalist, strongly anti-government, and anti-socialist. They often express themselves violently. They strongly discriminate based on their extreme values (e.g., discriminate based on ethnicity, sex, religion, nationality). They do not tend to be formally organised. Hence, unable to form any sustained power or control. They often fight among themselves.
Most countries will have pockets of people with far or alt right beliefs. The UK would not be an exception, but there is no evidence that there is a significant far right presence in the UK. There is no evidence that pockets of rioters among the protesters believe in far right ideology or have any links to any far right groups. No active far right groups have been linked to these riots. The English Defence League was named, but have been inactive for a decade.
The far right conspiracy has raised tensions in communities. These have caused counter protests, which has also caused rioting. On Wednesday, there was misinformation about 100 far right protests/riots. None of them occurred. Instead, the threat came from radical counter protesters.
The lies were spread through social media, but so was the truth. X rightly did not censor the lies or the truth. Now, we can safely say that the accusations about the far right have been debunked.
It is sad that the protesters legitimate concerns have been drowned out by the violence from infiltrating thugs. I suspect, they were most likely inserted for that exact reason. The misinformation about far right conspiracies further discredited their message. The Tommy Robinson marches were a far more effective method of raising concerns; they had one in June and another in July.
I will write a full post with analysis about what is happening. I will do so, when I have a more complete picture. Things are still likely to escalate further.
I have written about conspiracy theories in my post Weaponizing of Conspiracy Theories and I have written about the collapse of the west in my post Global Collapse – Part 5B: Global Civil War. All of what we are seeing was not difficult to predict. However, it seems to be developing faster than I anticipated.

I posted my final challenge for this year’s challenge series. This was the Tax Game. Participants needed to select the tax rates for a fictitious country over three years. Lowering the tax raises national income, but raising it has the potential to improve welfare. The challenge includes parameters that participants need to use to determine what tax rates they should apply for each year. It is important to note that sudden changes in either direction will be detrimental to the economy.
In the other post, I announced the results of Challenge 1. This was the Ice Cream Game. There were only 9 participants, and only 6 legitimate entries. Therefore, only 45 Hive Power will be given away; 30 to the winner and 15 to the runner up. I’ll post another results post in a couple of days.
That wraps up this Actifit Post and Update. I’ll be back again in around a week. I should have two more results posts up by then.
