My Actifit Report Card and the Pig Connection

in actifit •  6 months ago  (edited)

Hi Everyone,

I’m back with another Actifit Report and Update. It’s been a little longer than usual. I’ve been busy working on the new book. I have quite a bit of momentum. I didn’t want to waste it. I did take some time off from the book to write one post. I also took some time off to work on the garden. I have a new strimmer. I’ve never liked strimmers because I kept breaking them. This one, hopefully, will be different. It uses a metal blade instead of string. So far, so good. I used it to tidy up the smaller back garden after I mowed it. I will have to see how it handles a bigger more challenging area.

Other than more garden work, it has been a reasonably typical week. I certainly miss the walks with Mango. Ruby dog is partially feeling that gap. I walk her in the evenings along the same route that I used to take Mango.

My Content

It was just the one post this week, but I consider it a fairly important post. The post is about pigs and our human connection to them. Pigs have several characteristics that are incredibly similar to us, humans. The eyes, skin, and many of the internal organs are almost a perfect match to ours. What’s just as fascinating is that pigs and humans are supposedly separated by around 100 million years of evolution. Mice are closer in terms of shared ancestors based on mainstream evolutionary theory. Despite this gap, pigs share 98% of the same DNA as humans.

The post discussed an interesting theory that proposes that humans are a crossbreed between chimpanzees and pigs. A combination of pig and chimpanzee characteristics explain more about the human race than conventional evolutionary theories. However, this theory is still flawed; read the post for an explanation.

This post is also greatly inspired by Hamlet the Happy Pig. She has been a part of my life for three years now. From my time with her, it has become clear that she is not like any other non~human animal I have ever met. Her personality stands out in so many ways. You would have to meet her to fully understand what I mean.

That brings an end to this Actifit Report and Update. I’ll have a new Sapien Loop quiz posted in a couple of days. So keep an eye out for it and get reading if you haven’t finished Part 2 yet. I wish everyone a great week ahead.
