Hello everyone π,
Happy Sunday π and a very warm welcome to my world π. Just another ordinary day and the stepping continued unabated. I can't believe it's already Mid Mayπ. As always I am truly happy and grateful for this dayπ―. Thank you for being here yet again and before bedtime, let's quickly take a look at how my day went and also some of the trending stories. Here we go again, come on π¨.
So just like yesterday, I kicked off with the fast paced morning session. Thoroughly enjoyed the cool morning breeze π as I made my way around the neighborhood π². Then I was back indoors for some rest and the daily household chores. A little bit of youtube and cooking then the afternoon saw me go out to the shopping centre for some fruits and veggies. Next came the refreshing napπ€. Then I woke up some time later in the evening and continued watching some of the earlier videos and news, There was also some interesting and exciting football matches going on. I did finish off the day with the slow paced evening walk enjoying the cool evening breeze.
Now let's quickly take a look what has been trending in the media streets.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans πΉ kept going.
Its Mothers' Day so a big shout out to all mothers out there including mine. We wouldn't be here without them and all the pain and sacrifices they made for us to survive and be alive today. I could write a whole post on thisπΉ.
Today the president gave the longest interview to a couple of journalists from various TV stations.
Globally, Turkey trending as they went to the polls today. Results are coming in for the highly contested polls with over 80% of of votes counted. Incumbent president Erdogan is in the lead, however he has under fifty percent of the votesπΉ. This means there will most likely be a run off held in two weeks.
Anyway, it was a good election with voter turn out at 88%.
Elsewhere Ukrainian president Zelensky was in Germany and has asked Chancellor Olaf Scholz to back him with fighter jets while thanking him for yesterday's weapons pledge of close to $3 billion. This evening he then stopped by in Paris France, for talks with president Macron.
Trending in Belarus, speculation about Lukashenko's health has grown after he missed a key state celebrationπ.
Finally, Sweden's Loreen won the Eurovision song contest for the second time with her soaring pop anthem Tattoo ππ. The star, who last won the competition in 2012, saw off competition from Finland in a nail biting vote. Congratulations to herπ―.
Anyways, let's touch base again tomorrow on an awesome Monday π. Until then keep stepping and enjoying your weekend π.That's it, stay safe, take care and good bye πππ Hakuna Matata π.
