Hello everyone 👋,
Happy hump day 😎🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. We are bang in the middle of the week and I have had another wonderful day. Thank you for being here and please keep reading 👓 as I let you in on how my day went plus some of the trending stories I came across. Let's get going 💨.
I kicked off the day with a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. It was a beautiful sunny 🌞 morning as I made my way. A short walk that I enjoyed and then I was back indoors thirty minutes later. I then rested for a while, caught up with emails, watched the news and then the usual chores around the house.
My next stepping came later in the afternoon going to the shopping centre for some groceries. Still a beautiful sunny day as I made my way. It was nap time when I got back indoors, I woke up some time early evening and got on with the cooking, watching a little bit of news and youtube .Next came the evening or sunset walk, it looked like it would rain but it didn't and I made it back home safe and sound. Now let's quickly look at what has been trending in the news today.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹, kenya starvation cult case still trending with bodies being exhumed from shallow graves 😭. 90 bodies so far have been found, upto 300 people still missing and it's a vast forested farm of over 800 acres to comb through 🙀. All of them brainwashed to fast in readiness to see Jesus.
Meanwhile in Sudan, today was the 12 th day of the conflict between the army and RSF. At least the ceasefire has held long enough for people to flee. Foreign countries have been evacuating their citizens and Sudanese nationals fleeing to Chad and Egypt. However so many people are stuck as they cannot access money from the bank. The situation is getting dire as food and water become scarce 🙀.
Let's go to Ukraine, where president Zelensky has had a phonecall with Chinese president Xi Jing ping. China has said it is neutral on the conflict and has refused to criticize Putin's invasion of Ukraine. Let's hope China can broker an end to that war.
Over in Russia, jailed Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny says he is being investigated on terrorism charges that carry a minimum 30 year sentence 🙀.
Across the pond in the US, South Korean President is in Washington meeting counterpart Biden. They have pledged to strengthen deterrence against north Korea, including sending nuclear armed US submarines and other military assets to south Korea.
