Hey Actifitters,
The cold wave we've been hearing for a while was here yesterday, in the single digit Fahrenheit, somewhere around -14C. And that's without even accounting for wind chill. But with a little bit of sun in the afternoon, that wasn't going to stop us from a walk with Kaia. Just to be safe though, we only went to the small forest behind the front yard.
This way we can walk back quickly if I see Kaia struggling with the cold.
But she was absolutely fine, first photobombing again many of my photos.
Then going on her usual exploration.
After a little observation, she figured out the best thing against the cold was to stay in motion. I'm sure you also noticed her colorful vest. This is thin and not very warm, but perfect to protect the most critical areas around the chest and belly.
Don't be deceived by the sun, it was cold!
All that running around can be tiring.
But like I said many times, Kaia doesn't stay tired for long. She was back jumping all over the place pretty quickly.
We kept the walk short, and made sure we stayed on snow all the time. It's much better for Kaia's paws, walking in the street could burn them. To add more activity, we spent several breaks in the yard. Play time! With the darkness falling, it's becoming challenging to avoid blurriness, but I still like some of these photos.
Le Chat asked several times to go out, but she stayed in front of the door, felt the cold, then went back in. Clever Le Chat! When she does go out, I make sure she only stays out a few minutes, and I also plugged in her heated outdoor house just in case.
Another small step count, missed the bar again in #poprzeczka competition. Last chance on Tuesday, but it's supposed to get even colder. We'll see how it goes.
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.

Very nice place. It's fun to enjoy sunny and snowy cold weather together.
Thanks! Snow and sun is indeed my favorite combo by far. Today might have been a bit too cold (wind chill below -30C!), but still enjoyable.
