Hey Actifitters,
It seems yesterday was a deer day! First encounter in the morning. As often, I let Kaia patrol the yard while I was working and I quickly heard some loud barking. From the window, I could see what she was barking at.
I have no idea how it happened but I completely missed the beginning of the eclipse. I actually thought we were really far from the totality path, and it wasn't worth it. Turns out we were pretty close, and I believe it was about 99% total. Anyways, when I realized it, I quickly set up my so-called smart telescope and could catch the end. Here's a sample, I'll try and post-process the whole thing later.
Le Chat seemed interested but Kaia in the background could not care less.
Later in the afternoon, the deer were back, four in the backyard. I kept Kaia inside and went closer, pretty close actually.
Le Chat was looking at them like 'what are these things doing in my yard?...'
They didn't care!
But she let them know 'You can't stay here!'
So they finally left, jumping the fence so easily, as it wasn't even there.
They stayed pretty close and just ended up in the yard across the street.
So I could finally get Kaia and start our long walk of the day behind the back yard.
The deer were on the opposite side, but Kaia could still catch their scent.
'I'm telling you, they're right there somewhere...'
And she disappeared in the forest, looking for them.
She only came back when she saw Le Chat joined us.
But it was getting late and it was time to go the bigger forest. The sky was on fire!
When we arrived near the forest entrance, what did we find? Yep, more deer. I could see only two, but they were right in our way.
Kaia scared them off and we could continue on the trail.
With of course a quick Cubiverse loop outside the forest.
And a short second go in the forest.
As often, we also completed our walk with a couple miles in the quiet neighborhood, now fully in the dark.
Well, it wasn't the most active day, but we did spend lots of time outdoor, and seeing all these deer was pretty cool. The eclipse too, even if I saw only the end.
