Hey Actifitters,
During the night yesterday, we had another very violent storm. There were multiple tornado alerts in nearby cities, and even if we didn't get the worst of it, it was pretty impressive. No power outage luckily, but it did go out for a split second, just enough to reboot all my electronic devices. My first reaction was to top off all my power banks, and rechargeable lights. I'm not making that mistake again! But this time, it didn't matter since like I said, the power came back almost immediately and no other issue occurred. I did hear a tree or something fall outside, so when the rain stopped, I went to check it out. But, at 4am, with just a small headlamp, I couldn't see much of course. And it was probably time for bed anyways. Much later in the day though, I tried again to figure out what happened. I checked the backyard first, but no new big fallen branches, just plenty of small ones.
On the other side, there was one new fallen branch, but the way it fell, it couldn't have been the noise I heard.
Same thing in the front yard, only the fallen branches from the last big storm.
So Kaia and I decided to check the small forest just behind the South fence.
I did see some fallen trees and branches, but again probably nothing that could explain that noise.
So I gave up and followed Kaia back to the backyard, where she saw Le Chat.
I tried group photos, but no luck: Kaia kept yawning, while Le Chat didn't care.
After a late afternoon meeting, we finally could go for our daily walk with Kaia. I thought we were once again too late for the sunset. But surprisingly it looked very promising when we got close to some of the good viewpoints.
When we arrived near the golf course entrance, the colors were indeed beautiful.
With all the rain we had the past few days, I even tried to capture a few reflections.
We kept going North following the golf course fence, because the colors were getting even more vibrant, with plenty more shades.
At the end, it looked like the whole sky was on fire.
We took it all in, but at some point, the colors faded and we quickly went to the forest next.
Kaia needed her off-leash time!
But I could see she was also getting tired.
So as often we made our way back home in darkness. The cloud cover was still looking good though.
And that was it for the day's activities. Sorry for the barrage of sunset photos, but these were some of the best sky colors I've ever seen, and picking the photos to share was quite hard!
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
