My Actifit Report Card: August 14 2024

The four of us played a fun round of eighteen-hole disc golf. I came in second with the scores at +22, +22, +24, and +24. I might have won, but I had a bit of a meltdown on hole 14.

Hole 14 is a difficult par 4 with a tight fairway with some forested rough right to the front right of the tee. Usually, a backhand throw will hyzer out of bounds to the left if you're not careful. I was being extra careful and shanked my first throw off the tee into the forested rough. I thought I could pitch out from the spot, but my throw got caught in a bush and disappeared.

The four of us looked for the disc but could not find it. Rather than rethrow from the forest, I went back to the tee and threw again from there.

It is kind of fun to see just how badly you can play a hole, lol. To make a long story short, I ended up taking a nine to complete the hole. (There were a couple of penatly points involved.)

After the round was over, I went back to look for my disc and searched for some time where we all thought I had pitched out to. I was about to give up when I thought maybe it was closer to the tee than where we all were looking. I looked under a bush closer to the tee and found the disc right away. I was feeling really happy to get it back.

On the way back, I found a nice piece of wood by the side of the fairway. It was not marking a boundary or anything, so I carted it off. My cart wheels made some odd noises from the load, but I got it back to the car pretty easily. I had asked the folks that ran the disc golf course if it was okay, and they said that there was plenty of wood around, so no worries.
