My friends and I played an eighteen-hole disc golf course this morning. It was a bit cold and windy at times. I came in third place with a +20 to +14, +15, and +27.
It was a lot of fun being out on the course today. My friends were razzing me a little after yesterday's win. In the middle of the flight of one of my throws, my friend said, "Hit the bush!"
We watched as the wind tossed the disc into the bush. My friend grinned and laughed.
I thought about giving a lesson on proper disc golf etiquette. The correct thing to say mid flight is, "Nice throw!"
Then you are supposed to say, "Sorry I niced you," if the disc hits a tree, bush, or sinks in a pond or flies out of bounds.
It is all in good fun. I just smiled at my friend, and we went on with the round.
