A few hours ago the witness @hornet-on-tour made the following post The 20 facts about Hornet on Tour - Die 20 Fakten über Hornet on Tour, having found the concept interesting I also decided to participate and to mention at the end of this post 2 other witnesses to take over this torch.
It's now half a century that I look at the world starting with France (don't be mistaken with the photo I saw well in color and not in black and white hahaha) and the first thing I saw was a strange thing with virtual rackets called pong.
my life has always been surrounded by dogs and cats, starting with an amazing Belgian Shepherd who welcomed me and protected me between his paws during my naps.
I come from a world where you had to ring your friends' doorbells to get them to come and play, where you couldn't get very far with the telephone because of the wire, and where when I was 10 years old the most popular console was the Atari 2600.
We can't say that I was a very studious child, preferring to play hooky and later on pinball machines, billiards and arcade machines in coffee bars hahaha. It's an exceptional teacher who at the age of 17 knew how to find the words and motivate me to study seriously.
I was part of the Atari side in the Atari/Amiga war with my 520 ST, then the PC revolution arrived starting with a powerful 386 SX 25 Mhz that I made evolve by putting there all my money by trying to follow the Moore's Law followed some time later by the democratization of the Internet via modems with an unforgettable connection noise.
I've always been a big fan of video games raised by movies like war game, Tron...
In a time when Geeks were not popular I still followed the path of computer science for my studies which finally allowed me to have an extremely interesting professional life.
In 1998, pushed by my 2 best friends, I went on vacation with them in California/Nevada, we had nothing planned except the first and last night of hotel and car rental. Until then, I had always seen travel abroad as the best way to spend large amounts of money unnecessarily. What a mistake! This trip was a revelation that started a chain reaction because many others followed afterwards allowing me to discover other cultures, other visions like Mexico which influenced me a lot.
I am a big fan of cinema and music, from my father but also from my teenage years punctuated by the huge and amazing films and music of the 80/90s.
In 2000, like many others I waited for the bug, at that time I was working for a major French investment bank. Of course nothing happened hahaha, so I decided to leave for new horizons after having learned a lot from this experience in the financial world for the world of cosmetics with a world leader in the sector where again I learned a lot.
In the 2000's I was offered a job in the logistics branch of a large French car manufacturer as an IT Architect with many trips throughout Europe to meet many IT managers. A position that I obviously accepted easily and that allowed me to discover IT in different countries.
With the previous point, you understood that developer is not my main job, development is more a hobby, a passion that probably comes from my immeasurable admiration of the demomakers of my teenage years. I think I have a pretty good mastery of it having started doing it since my teenage years, having been a part of my studies and practicing it more and more intensely over the years since I feel I have accomplished what I was looking for in the architecture and management of information systems.
In 2008, on the verge of burnout, I left for 1 month to discover Japan (my first trip to Asia), equipped with a rail pass I went from North to South stopping in many cities, again it was a revelation with a lifestyle and an attitude far from what I knew. It was from this trip that the idea of expatriating myself to Asia began to grow in my mind.
With the years the young and impetuous bull is well softened, my different trips and meetings allowed me to understand that everything is in the shade and that the world is not reduced to 0 or 1 but more to a superposed state (yes I am a big fan of science and quantum mechanics).
2012 was my first encounter with the land of smiles (Thailand), harassed by the gray sky and the little sunshine per year of Paris, the cold of the winter, the stress... I said to myself that it was a country for me. One year later I came to live there and I do not regret it at all.
I'm a total loser when it comes to DIY, being a huge coffee drinker my hands never knew how to hold in place when I tried to hammer nails hahaha.
I also suck at Thai, using mostly English in my business.
I am also a passionate of photos and videos, I have 2 Canon cameras and all the Youtuber/Twitcher stuff.
Although I have traveled (Laos, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan...) I have not been back to France for 9 years, my family comes here quite regularly on vacation
What more to say? My favorite game? FF VII. My favorite studio game? Lucas Art (point & click). My favorite music? Hard question, AC/DC? Morcheeba? U2? There are so many groups and singers I like... My favorite movie? too Hard too! probably one of Spielberg or Lucas or Miyazaki.
Here is finally the end of this post which was more complicated than I thought to find the 20 points.
So I nominate @saboin and @khrom to try this #20factschallenge exercise.
And you dear reader, don't forget to vote for your favorite witness(es) to thank them for taking great care of the Blurt blockchain here: https://blurtwallet.com/~witnesses or on BeBlurt https://beblurt.com/witnesses (use the grid view it's more fun).
For my part I will review some of my votes of witnesses having enough support (don't blame me too much) to favor some outside the top 20.
Nice and very interesting 20 facts about you, I enjoyed reading this one. Many Thanks
Glad you liked it :)
