Developers of the Zilliqa block project have announced the launch of non-casteodial stacking in their main network. Previously, users were offered to perform ZIL stacking via Zilliqa exchanges, but now they can do it on their own using the noncastodial Zillion platform.
The release also introduced a new token for protocol management called gZIL. Its release will take place within one year, and the emission limit will be 682,550 tokens. These will be provided to the tokens along with the usual awards.
"After many months of thorough testing with the help of the community, the stacking was finally launched at Zilliqa. We are delighted to join one of the most innovative partners as we continue to create future-oriented DeFi offers ourselves," said Zilliqa Scientific Director Amrit Kumar.
The developers expect that the stacking will allow for higher decentralization of nodes and at the same time attract new participants to the network support. Before the launch of smart contracts for stacking were audited by PwC, and after - open beta testing.
According to the announcement on Twitter Zilliqa, 1 billion ZIL tokens were added to the stacking for the first hours.
Earlier there was an announcement of a decentralized exchange Zilswap, which is being developed by the team Switcheo and is designed to become an analogue of Uniswap on the blockage Zilliqa.
