Myself and G.G stopped at Van Reenen's Pass twice as we traveled to Durban and back. The first stop was at the little church which I shared few days ago.

The tunnel here is just bellow the freeway as seen below with car traveling. I told Garry you don't see this kind of tunnel often so I'm going to take a photo of it.

Garry was the photographer here taking pictures of me 🙂, we had a fun trip I must say even though it was for work purpose.

Van Reenen's Pass is a pass through the Drakensberg mountains in South Africa. The N3 freeway was constructed through the pass and is the main route from Durban to Johannesburg on the border between the provinces of KwaZulu-Natal and the Free State.

All that came to mind was hiking at the location with an elevation of 1690m above sea level, the view from the top to the valley was breathtaking. I could see trails around the mountains which tells me people do come over for hikes. We almost thought of driving a little further down the trail then we looked at each other and said do we really need to do this when we still had about 300km back to Johannesburg 😃.

We behaved and continued our journey back home.
