Long time ago, a friend used a statement that wasn't really nice, was annoying and was out of point.
This got me offended and made me feel sad because I didn't think he would make such a statement.
But then, he's human and as human we do make mistakes if we're not careful enough. I did not hesitate to caution him immediately.
Sometimes, there are statements people term as a joke that shouldn't be swept under the carpet instead, trash it out properly.
In a polite manner, tell them you don't want to accept that in a firm way. You know the truth is bitter but must be told so, in a situation like this you need to be blunt where necessary.
You're like a mirror to them and you should help them see themselves better.
Whenever your friend makes a mistake, do not ignore or laugh over it, learn to always caution such a friend that's why you're friends.
Like I said, the truth is bitter but must be told therefore, learn to caution you friend over his/her mistake.
A true friend won't hide the truth otherwise, he/she is not worth to be your friend. Sometimes the truth might not sound sweet to their ears but you should know that the truth has to be told.
This will help them avoid and also not repeat such mistake else where or even in the public. It shapen such a person and puts the person in check.
If the person sees your cautioning as an offense and doesn't accept your correction then it's up to him/her. It's only a foolish person that takes offense when corrected it counsel.
Do not cover your friends bad attitude only because you want to maintain or keep such friendship. Always tell your friends the truth even when you you'll know that such relationship will be at risk.
The truth will always say them and they'd always thank you later!
