I joined Steemit in 2017 due to unemployment. I talked about how I could not find work due to autism. Note that everyone is different and you cannot judge everyone just by one person.
Later on Hive was created after the new CEO took over. My earnings went up around 2020 when I was able to get better equipment for YouTube therefore be able to play newer games.
My earnings on Steemit pulled in 100-200 dollars a month. Then when I had to file for taxes for 2021, Steemit stopped SBD and gave Steem instead. The value for Steem is lower
Hive was still strong. Then Hive started to dipped the following summer
I thought things would go back up. Usually, you can expect dips in views when kids are about to finish school.
I had to cancel subscriptions for Epidemic Sounds, I had to make some cuts due to the drop in revenue. I prefer to use music sites like Epidemic Sounds to avoid bs issues. I used music from an indie artist, and then someone started stealing his music. So he had to put his music in YT's system.
All of my videos with his music have copyright claims
Even though I only hired someone to make me a banner because they wouldn't stop harassing me. For context, someone messaged me about making a banner for YT/Twitch. I told them I needed to save and I would be back after I'd saved enough. Only for them to message me a day later asking me if I am still gonna hire them. Told them I needed to save because I didn't have the money right now. Completely ignored. I only hired them because they weren't gonna leave me alone until I said yes. Which fucked me over
I had to "lay them off" because the loss meant I could not afford to hire them anymore for thumbnails. They constantly bugged me despite explaining I am a small creator who doesn't get a lot of money
I can't afford to help my grandma get the oil changed anymore. I can't afford to help her with repairs.
I am giving her 125 dollars for a new heating system. I could manage before my earnings on Hive and Steemit dropped
Now I can't afford it anymore. I have no choice but to be broke until each check because I can't get new members on Kofi to make up for the loss.
I am monetized on Facebook reels. The amount I get varies. When engagement went down when kids went back to school, that affected me.
Can't increase my postings without some asshole reporting me to hive watchers now.
I tell people this is my means to support myself. Posting on Dbuzz allows me to engage the audience while they wait since recording and editing a 10-hour game movie will take time.
The guy who reported me obv didn't see that if it were a snake.
It was a domino effect.
Before you try to ruin my support simply because you don't like me or understand my situation, ask yourself. would you want me to find where you work, email your employer to get you fired over something I would know had I talked to you.
People need to be careful with their actions.
I am hoping I can move to Blurt since so far no BS like on Hive and Steemit
